Context
The announcement of a Hydrogen Task Force between India and the under the Strategic Energy Partnership was made at the inaugural edition of the Hydrogen Roundtable - "Hydrogen Economy: New Delhi Dialogue - 2021".
What will be the functions of the hydrogen task force?
- Achieving targets: It will help to achieve net-zero emission by 2050.
- Hydrogen success: It will also ensure hydrogen success through production, transportation, industrial use, and storage of hydrogen as an energy medium.
- Carbon-free: It would help to meet out the goal of a completely carbon-free grid by 2035.
- Public-private participation:The task force will support the public-private participation to fulfill the energy demands for cleaner fuels.
Hydrogen Economy: New Delhi Dialogue - 2021
A Hydrogen Roundtable titled “Hydrogen Economy- the Indian Dialogue-2021”, was conducted by the Energy Forum and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
About the Dialogue
- First of its kind: The Hydrogen Roundtable is the first of its kind and will comprise a High-level Ministerial Session which will be followed by five Panel Discussions by eminent policymakers, experts, and industry leaders from different geographical regions of the world.
- Aim: Hydrogen Economy- the Indian Dialogue-2021 was conducted to discuss emerging hydrogen ecosystems and to explore opportunities for collaboration, cooperation, and coalition.
- The policy roadmaps and mapping demand and supply of Hydrogen would be focused on the mission.
- Objective: The objective of the Roundtable is to understand the progress being made for the Hydrogen ecosystem across the different continents of the world.
- It will focus on the synchrony for developing innovative and sustainable technology solutions.
- India's Hydrogen Mission will also be discussed.
