- Shrikant Madhav Vaidya assumes charge as the chairman of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) succeeding Sanjiv Singh whose term ended on June 30
- Prior to this, he was serving as the Director (Refineries) on the IOC Board, since October 2019.
- He will also serve as the Chairman of Chennai Petroleum Corporation
- He has 34 years of experience in refining and petrochemicals operations along with decade-long association with India's largest cracker plant
