Context
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) which is a central Public Sector Unit under the Ministry of Power has established an e-Tendering Portal-PRANIT.
About the PRANIT portal
- It is an e-Tendring portal established by the Ministry of Power.
- Objective:It will help in minimizing the paperwork and will bring ease of operation. The portal is expected to bring more transparency to the system of tendering.
- Certification:The portal has been certified by Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification Directorate (STQC).
- Significance: Now the POWERGRID has become the only organization in India to have an e-Procurement solution on the SAP SRM framework.
- It complies with all applicable requirements relating to security and transparency.
- It is a pursuit of digitalization innovation to bring ease to the process.
Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate
About: t is an attached office under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Objective: It provides quality assurance in the field of Electronics and IT.
Services: It encompasses Calibration, Testing, IT & e-Governance, Training, and Certification.
Attached institutions:
- ERTL and ETDC network for testing and calibration
- Indian Institute of Quality Management (IIQM) for quality training programs
- Centre for Reliability (CFR) for reliability services
Funding: It gets budgetary support from the Government.
