What are its features?

• The scheme was started in 2018.
• The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KisanYojana) is a central sector scheme.
• It aims for the families of farmers across the country.
• The scheme defines family as husband, wife and minor children.
• The scheme provides Rs 2,000 each in three installments for every four months to the farmer families.
• The entire identification of the family rests with the state and Union Territory governments.

How it is helpful in promoting digital economy and inclusivity?

• The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
• It also supports the vision of doubling of farmer’s income.
