Participatory notes(P-notes)

Context

Investments in the Indian finance market through participatory notes (P-notes)
rose to ?89,143 crore till the end of February, the positive trend is likely continue
in the coming months on expectations of encouraging corporate earnings by India
Inc which will incentivise foreign investors.

P-notes
? P-notes are Offshore Derivative Instruments (ODIs).
? P-notes are issued by registered Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) to
overseas investors who wish to be a part of the Indian stock market
without registering themselves directly. They, however, need to go through
a due diligence process.
