- NTPC Limited (formerly- National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) wins CII-ITC Sustainability Award 2019 under the category Corporate Excellence for Outstanding Accomplishment.
- It has also received a Commendation for Significant Achievement in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- GEM (Girl Empowerment Mission), a 4 weeks residential program is its flagship CSR program. It is institutionalized near its power stations to help school girls from underprivileged backgrounds to support their overall development.
- It has initiated Contractors’ Labour Information Management System (CLIMS) to make payment to contract labourers on the last day of the month at project sites.
