- The MOSAiC Expedition started from Norway.

- Multidisciplinary Drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate(MOSAiC)is an international research expedition that aims to take the closest look ever at the Arctic as the epicenter of global warming and to gain fundamental insights that are key to better understand global climatechange.
- The project has been designed by an international consortium of leading polar research institutions led by Germany’s Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research(AWI).
- RV Polarstern (a polar research ship): Under the mission, German research icebreaker Polarstern was set sail from Norway to spend a year drifting through the Arctic Ocean – trapped in ice.
