Maiden Navy Exercise: India-Algeria

Context

Recently, the Indian and Algerian navies participated in a maiden naval exercise off the Algerian coast in a bid to increase maritime cooperation between the two sides.

  • INS Tabar took part in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with Algerian Navy ship 'Ezzadjer'.

Key points about exercise

  • Several activities were undertaken between the Indian and Algerian warships.

  • INS Tabar (F44) (translates as "battle axe") is the third of the Talwar-class frigates of the Indian Navy.
