- This terminal accommodates India’s first trans-shipment hub.
- A Trans-Shipment Hub handles containers and stores them temporarily. Later it transfers them to other ships for onward destination.
- The port is best positioned Indian port in terms of proximity to international sea routes.
- The port is located at least nautical distance from feeder ports of India.
