India’s first plasma bank

• Delhi Govt. launched India’s first plasma bank at ILBS Hospital.
• In this process the plasma of recovered person is transmitted into the blood of patient suffering from that particular disease and the process is termed as Convalescent plasma theory
• Eligibility criteria for the Donor
• Must be between the ages 18-60 years.
• Should weigh more than 50kgs.
• Should be virus free for more than 14 days.
• Who all cannot donate?

People suffering from:

• • diabetes,
  • hypertension,
  • cancer survivors,
  • those with chronic heart,
  • liver,
  • lung and kidney diseases
  • high blood pressure
  • For women who have been pregnant sometime in their life also cannot donate
