The Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) program of Bhutan is launched with the association of India.
About the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) program
- The Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) is a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
- This program is expected to be of about 24 months’ duration.
- India in collaboration with the UNDP and the TIWB Secretariat aims to aid Bhutan in strengthening its tax administration.
- It will contribute by transferring technical know-how and skills to its tax auditors, and through sharing of best audit practices.
- The focus of the programme will be in the area of International Taxation and Transfer Pricing.
- India was chosen as the Partner Jurisdiction for the program in Bhutan.
- It will provide the Tax Expert for this program.
- The program is another milestone in the continued cooperation between India and Bhutan and India’s continued and active support for South-South cooperation.
Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB)
- It is a joint initiative of OECD/UNDP.
- It was launched in July 2015.
- The initiative aims to strengthen developing countries' auditing capacity and multinationals' compliance worldwide.
- Tax Inspectors Without Borders is playing a key role in helping developing countries to recover from the pandemic.
- They are targeting increasing domestic revenues while supporting the transition to a greener, more sustainable economies.
