Context
The sixth edition of the Indo-French Shakti 2021, the biennial training exercise, is to be conducted from November 15 to November 26 in Frejus, France.
Key-highlights of the Exercise
- The Exercise would focus on Counter-Terrorism operations in the backdrop of semi-urban terrain under the United Nations Mandate to enhance military cooperation and interoperability between the two Armies.
- From the Indian side, a platoon strength of a Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion will participate in the exercise.
- The French side is to be represented by troops of the 21st Marine Infantry Regiment of the 6th Light Armoured Brigade.

Last Edition
- The last edition of the Shakti exercise had taken place in Rajasthan in 2019.
