- To express gratitude towards the doctors and physicians for their dedicated service, the day 1st July the birth as well as the death anniversary of one of the renowned physicians in India, Bidhan Chandra Roy was chosen to be celebrated as National Doctor’s Day in India.
- The First National Doctor’s Day was celebrated in the year 1991. The day is organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
- The Theme of 2020 National Doctor’s Day: Lessen the Mortality of COVID 19.
